New Grading System

The Better Business Bureau (BBB), a not-for-profit, public service organization established in Canada in 1935 and financed by the private business sector, is changing its business grading system. Previously, the BBB rated a business “satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory” based on its confidence in a business to act in a trustworthy manner and make a good faith effort to resolve any customer concerns. Starting in 2009, the BBB will switch to a letter grade when rating a business. The new system grading ranges from an A+ to F (Fail).

Consumers can research the grades of local Canadian businesses by reviewing BBB Reliability Reports, which are available online and free of charge at the Canadian Council for Better Business Bureaus.
