Privacy Policy

TUR is committed to respecting the privacy rights of website visitors. The following policy describes how we collect, protect and use information we receive from website visitors.

What information do we collect?

  • We collect information from you when you register on the site to enter, respond to a survey, request information, ask to be contacted by one of the Service providers, or when you register as a Service provider.
  • When registering as a visitor, we may ask you for date of birth, gender, nationality, country of residence, e-mail address, as well as to create a user name and password. You will also be asked to opt-in to our e-mail list. You may, however, visit our site anonymously. Without registering you will not be able to give your opinion by completing the country survey nor will you be able to participate in any of the forums.
  • When, as a visitor, you request information or have asked to be contacted by one of the Service providers we may ask you for your name, home address, zip/postal code, e-mail address, daytime and/or mobile phone number. TUR does not use the information we collect for marketing purposes. You may choose to opt-out from receiving information, being contacted by, or for any other promotions from our service providers by completing the opting-out form on our website located in the Contact & Information section.
  • When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we may again ask for your name, address, e-mail address, date of birth, username and password so that we are able to better administer the contest and notify winners.
  • When you register as a Service or Information provider we may ask you for your company name, company URL, chamber of commerce registration number, address, zip/postal code, VAT ID, contact person name, e-mail address, daytime and/or mobile phone number and credit card information. You will be asked only for information necessary to process the registration transaction. You will receive a user name and password which you will be able to change.
  • After registration, we may ask you for information necessary to complete and publish the company profile on the website. We may ask you for a service description, year founded, number of employees, mission, values, references, regional representation, company picture, company logo and whether or not you wish to receive contact and/or information requests from visitors.
  • Like many websites, TUR uses "cookies" to enhance the user experience and to collect information about each visit. To learn more about how we use cookies to gather information, please refer to the section, “Do We Use Cookies?” listed below.
  • Click-stream data and other information about visits to our websites is received, stored and combined with other personal information collected. This information is used to analyze and improve the website experience and to better customize visits to the site to match your preferences.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register on the site to enter or respond to a survey, request information or contact by a Service provider, register as a Service provider, surf the website or use certain other site features in the following ways:
  • To personalize your site experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and service offerings in which you are most interested.
  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  • To learn about site visitors and to tailor specific features or other notifications to you.
  • To quickly process Service provider transactions. To administer a promotion, survey or other site feature.
  • To send emails about services, offers, and news that we think might be of interest. If you are not interested in receiving this information please refer to the "How can you opt-out?" section below.
  • If you have opted-in to receive TUR e-mail, we may send you periodic e-mails. If you would no longer like to receive TUR e-mail, please follow the instructions in any e-mail or refer to the "How can you opt-out?" section below. If you have not opted-in to receive TUR e-mail, you will not receive these e-mails.

How do we protect visitor information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained on secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. When you, as a Service provider, place an order or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our databases to be accessed only in the manner stated above.

Do we use "cookies"?

Yes. Cookies are pieces of information that a site sends to your computer while you are viewing the site. Cookies work in combination with content within the site itself to capture and remember information. They are used to track your activity and understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity. This enables us to provide you with services and/or to improve your site experience. We also use cookies to provide us with aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may contract with third party service providers to assist us in serving cookies, however, they are not permitted to use the information collected except to help TUR conduct and improve its business. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You can do this through your browser (i.e. Safari, Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your site experience more efficient -- like the features mentioned above -- and some of our services will not function properly. However, you can still access most of the features on the TUR website. As cookies are used by TUR to track Service provider subscriptions through the order and browsing process, you won't be able to place an on-line order if you disable cookies. Service providers who disable cookies can still place an order by contacting TUR's Customer Support.

Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?

TUR is the sole owner of the information collected on this website. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this privacy policy. TUR will not provide any personally identifying information on individual subscribers to any third party. All personally identifiable information will be stored at TUR B.V. in The Netherlands. Your data may be transferred to web site hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, that we don't consider to be 'outside parties', conducting TUR's business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when release is necessary to comply with the law. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information in aggregate form may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

How can you opt-out?

To completely opt-out of receiving TUR e-mail go to the Opt in /out form where you will have the following choices:
  • Opt-out to receive emails, electronic newsletters or periodic e-mails from TUR.
  • Opt-out to receive emails or prevent being contacted by TUR Service providers you’ve previously invited to do so.
Service providers may modify their information at any time and as often as necessary through the provider profile pages, accessible after login.

Cancelling Subscriptions

Service Providers may at any time cancel their subscription by using the Support contact form. While subscriptions are paid on an annual basis, please note that no refunds are given should you choose to cancel your subscription prior to the renewal period.

Third party links

As part of our service we include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).

Doing so may lead to you being immediately, permanently or temporarily banned. You agree not to post any forum or private messages advertising or promoting a particular website, product, service and/or venture (for profit or not) unless it is a direct response and relevant to the request for such information.
