Swiss Encourage Action

At the end of March 2008, a Swiss government delegation of around 1,000 representatives from government, business, research and the environment travelled to Bangkok for the Bangkok UN climate change conference to set ambitious new greenhouse emissions targets that will surpass those set in the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012. There is a need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions globally by at least 30 percent by 2025, with larger long-term reductions.
