Students

Enrolment in universities has continued to rise, with about 214,000 students having attended institutions of higher education in the 2006/2007 academic year, up from 61,000 in 1980 and 86,000 in 1990, according to the Swiss Federal Statistical Office. The International Student Exchange Programs reports that approximately 21% are international students (one of the highest percentages of foreign university students in the world for one country).
