Tuition & Fees

All students of Swiss universities are required to pay tuition, and the cost is the same for either Swiss or foreign students, averaging about 1,300 CHF per year (2007/2008), except for five universities that charge a supplemental fee for foreign students, the universities of Fribourg (300 CHF), Neuchâtel (550 CHF), St. Gall (300 CHF), Zurich (200 CHF) and Lugano (4,000 CHF). Lugano’s tuition is considerably more than the others as well, at 4,000 CHF per year.

Living expenses are calculated as being between 18,000 CHF and 28,000 CHF per year, depending on the location of the university and the student’s needs.
